Upper School is a time filled with tremendous growth, unlimited potential, and endless pathways. LifeReady takes the confident and talented learners from Middle School and refines their experiences/skills with a focus on ‘real’ life.

As students experience Upper School, our Guidance coaches continue to help them further refine their interests and goals. University or College programs generate interest and students can turn passions into future careers. Taking advice and not having to learn the hard way, we ensure students can be the architects of a successful life while keeping the future in mind and backtracking to meet the necessities of success. LifeReady provides your teen with opportunities to experience what ‘real-life’ will be like outside of school. Whether it be understanding how to file taxes, how to buy insurance and do financial planning; how to plan and cook healthy meals'; how to write a resume; or how to be a responsible digital citizen, LifeReady teaches your Upper School teen the real lessons that make life easier in the future.

Using practical tasks, guest coaches, and teachable moments, learning comes from a variety of sources. We look to provide hands-on real opportunities whenever possible including areas such as:

• Financial Literacy and Financial Planning

• Cooking for Self and Managing Nutrition as an Adult

• Resume Writing, Managing Interviews, and Applying for Jobs

• How to Manage Small and Large group interactions

• Making insightful choices in a digital invasive world

• How to approach university, course selection, and managing stress

• Time Management, meeting expectations

• How to be a leader others want to follow

We call this LifeReady because we do not want this to incidentally happen. LifeReady leads our conversations when we meet parents, when we plan our programs, and gives our teachers direction in how to provide a meaningful and individualized program for each learner working towards the IHGSD and OSSD. LifeReady in Upper School looks to finalize the real-world skills and day to day skills that ensures your young adult is ready to embrace life independently and with confidence.
